01Who we are and what this covers
Astro Analysts (“we”, “us”) runs the website astroanalysts.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use it, why, and the choices you have. It covers readings, quick readings, the World Event Meter, Kundali Lab, accounts and messages you send us.
Birth details can feel personal, so we keep what we collect to what the service needs, and we never sell it.
02What we collect
Details for your reading
When you ask for a reading, we use the first name or nickname you give, your date, time and place of birth, and the reading areas you choose. We save these on your device and on our servers, so you can pick up where you left off. Each name you read for gets its own record.
Other people’s details
For compatibility, you give a second person’s birth details. We use them to calculate the comparison and save them only on your device, not on our servers.
Account details
If you create an account: your name, email address and password. We store the password only as a secure hash, never as text we can read. If you use Google sign-in, we receive your name, email address and an identifier for your Google account from Google.
Sign-in and device information
For each device you are signed in on, we keep the browser and device type, the IP address, and when you signed in and were last active. You can see this list in your account.
Messages
If you use the contact form, we keep your name, email address, optional phone number, topic and message so we can reply. If you email us directly, we keep your message and email address too.
Technical information
Our servers use your IP address briefly to apply fair-use limits, and our hosting providers keep standard technical logs to keep the service running and secure. Google Analytics 4 loads automatically on public pages. It uses first-party cookies and receives page visits and basic device and approximate location information. We do not send names, email addresses or birth details in our Analytics events.
03How we use it
- To make your reading: your details are sent to our servers to calculate your chart and reading.
- To remember you: so you can come back to your reading without typing your details again.
- To run your account: signing in, keeping you signed in, and the emails your account needs.
- To keep the service safe: to prevent abuse, limit repeated sign-in attempts and protect accounts.
- To improve the service: for example, seeing which reading areas people choose most, in total.
- To answer you: when you write to us.
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based on automated processing.
04Emails we send
We only send the emails your account needs: confirming your email address, resetting your password, telling you your password changed, and letting you know if you try to sign up with an address that already has an account. We do not send marketing emails. If we ever want to, we will ask you first.
06What stays on your device
Your browser keeps some things on your device, such as your details for the next visit, a partner’s details, your theme choice and which story cards you have seen. You can clear them at any time. Our cookie policy lists each one.
Friend codes and invite links carry your name and birth details so a friend can compare with you. Anyone with the link can see those details, so share it only with people you trust.
07Where it is stored
Our providers store and process information on secure servers, which may be in India or in other countries. Wherever it is processed, we expect them to protect it to the standard this policy describes.
08How long we keep it
- Reading details: until you ask us to delete them, or until we no longer need them to run the service.
- Your account: for as long as it is open. When you ask us to delete it, we delete it and its sign-in records.
- Sign-in sessions: sessions renew as you use the site, for members and admins alike. They end when you sign out, revoke a device, reset your password, or your account rights change, or after 400 days without an authenticated request.
- Email links: confirmation links expire after 24 hours and password reset links after 30 minutes.
- Messages: for as long as we need them to help you, and to keep a record of what we agreed.
- Analytics: Google Analytics event-level data is kept for up to 14 months under our current settings; aggregated reports may remain available for longer under Google Analytics settings.
09Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your information, including your account and saved reading details;
- stop using your information where you have withdrawn your consent;
- nominate someone to act for you if you are unable to.
Email astroanalystss@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request”, from the address on your account if you have one. We may need to confirm it is you before we act, and we will reply within the time the law requires. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
10Children
Astro Analysts is not meant for children under 18 without a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us their details without permission, tell us and we will delete them.
11Keeping it safe
We protect your information with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, secure sign-in cookies and a database that is not open to the internet. Our security page describes this in more detail.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
12Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and change the date at the top. For significant changes we will tell you on the website or by email before they take effect.
13Contact and grievances
For any question or complaint about your personal information, email astroanalystss@gmail.com or use our contact page. We take every request seriously and will respond as quickly as we can.
